Lawmakers face a midnight Friday deadline to avert another government shutdown. On Wednesday, President Trump would not say whether he would sign off on the deal agreed to by congressional negotiators.

Vice President Pence continues his four-day overseas trip. On Wednesday, the Vice President greeted U.S. troops stationed in Poland, thanking them for their service.  Pence will visit the former Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz on Friday.

The Senate expected to vote on the nomination of William Barr, President Trump’s nominee for Attorney General.  He is expected to be confirmed.

Wednesday marked the first anniversary of the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida — the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history.
