Eight more elementary school teachers are needed for Muncie Community Schools classrooms, not because enrollment is growing, but because it’s shrinking less than expected. The Star Press quotes the district’s emergency manager as saying that if enrollment stays above 5,000, it will be a major victory. Enrollment is down 63 students this year, compared to more than 400 last year.
