Ball State University has appointed a new board for Muncie Community Schools Monday. The Board of Trustees approved five board members recommended by President Geoffrey S. Mearns. They are: Dave Heeter, CEO of MutualBank, attorney Jim Williams, head of engineering/facilities at Ball State Jim Lowe, Pastor Keith O’Neal and attorney Mark Ervin. Brittany Bales, special-education instructor at Ball State was recommended by the Mayor of Muncie and WaTasha Barnes Griffin, director of the YWCA was recommended by the Muncie City Council. The seven-member MCS board will begin their duties starting July 1.
