He was running from the cops when his girlfriend fell off the back of his motorcycle and was killed instantly. At his sentencing hearing this week, 28-year-old Ali Hussain Albarbari’s plea deal of guilty was rejected. Albabari pleaded guilty to a charge of causing death while intoxicated, hoping for a capped six-year sentence. The judge rejected that deal and decided to let a jury decide his punishment for the death of 30-year-old Sarah Smith of Anderson.
