Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in an off-road vehicle crash. 39-year-old Mathew Montgomery of Alexandria was riding along Madison County Road 500 West when he was thrown over the handlebars; resulting in multiple broken bones and lacerations, including a gash in his chin and one on top of his head. He was reportedly wearing gloves and goggles at the time but was not wearing a helmet.
