The Distressed Unit Appeal Board has scheduled a hearing on whether the state should take full control of Muncie Community Schools. The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 13 in the auditorium at Northside Middle School. The board must decide by December 1st on whether MCS should be designated as a “distressed political subdivision,” giving the emergency manager the power to take over.
