Bill To Be Proposed To Help MCS Finances

In an effort to help MCS get back on its feet financially, State Rep. Sue Errington plans to introduce a bill in the 2018 session of the Legislature. The Star Press reports the measure she has in mind would allow MCS to obtain a loan from the Common School Fund, which is funded by fines, forfeitures and the transfer of property to the state when a person dies without a will and legal heirs. MCS isn’t eligible for a loan from that fund because Muncie’s assessed value isn’t low enough.
