Man Charged in Muncie Dollar General Robbery

A Muncie man is facing charges, accused of holding up the Dollar General store on North Wheeling Avenue on Wednesday night.

Police say 34-year old Quincy Darnell Pegues was the man who allegedly walked into the store wearing gloves and threatened to shoot clerks unless they gave him cash. He never displayed a weapon in the robbery, but got away with an unknown amount of cash.

A witness saw the robber run to an apartment in the 700 block of West Centennial Avenue. Inside the apartment, police found clothing matching the description of what the robber was wearing, and also found a “a wad of cash in a plastic wrapping” in a bathroom floor vent. Pegues allegedly admitted to the robbery- he could face up to six years in prison.
