Local Shelter Taking In Animals Impacted By Hurricane Harvey

Portland, Indiana based Midwest Pet Refuge is doing what it can to help the animals displaced by Hurricane Harvey. Yesterday, the rescue took in 6 dogs and puppies transported from an Abilene, TX shelter. These dogs have been recently surrendered to the shelter, or were already there at the time of the hurricane. Hundreds of shelter dogs are being taken from south and east Texas to other shelters and rescues around the country as those in Texas gets flooded with pets lost in the flood waters of Harvey. More dogs will be coming to Midwest Pet Refuge from the greater Houston area later this week. Foster applications can be found at midwestpetrefuge.com.
