Firefighters in Anderson will be out at busy intersections and other traffic-filled areas of town this weekend for their annual ‘fill the boot’ drive to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Firefighters will be out at -among other places- the intersections of Main and 53rd streets, Cross Street and Indiana Avenue, Raible and Nichol avenues, and along 29th Street between Brown and Delaware streets. Last year saw a record number of donations, with $22,000 being raised. With last year being a record, the fire department is hoping for the same amount as last year, but said they’d be happy with their usual average, which has been around $16,500.
