The town of Lapel is trying to figure out what it will take to reopen County Road 500 South. The road from Indiana 13 to County Road 800 West has been closed for almost two months. President of the Lapel Town Council, Mike Cates, says the road was closed because the drain is damaged. Cates says they are waiting on an engineer’s report to see if temporary repairs can be made.
