More than half of the Marsh Supermarkets across the state have apparently been purchased at auction. Ohio-based grocery chain Generative Growth is reported to be the successful bidder for the purchase of the Marsh stores in Pendleton, Elwood, Tipton and Hartford City. The Marsh store at Wheeling Avenue and McGalliard Road in Muncie is listed as going to Topvalco/Kroger, as is the South Tillotson Avenue store. None of the Marsh locations in Anderson were sold Tuesday and their fate remains unknown.
