If you had plans to go to the beach in northern Indiana near the Dunes, you might want to hold off. West Beach and the Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk sites are closed, due to a spill from the USS Midwest Plant. Ogden Dunes Town Beach has also been closed until further notice after the spill of hexavalent chromium.
