Westfield Washington Schools have collected the signatures needed to place a 90 million dollar referendum on the ballot for a special election in May. “Westfield Yes!” a group of supporters leading the effort for the referendum, have collected more than the needed 500 taxpayers’ signatures for the ballot initiative to go forward. The decision to hold a special election, as well as the amount, was decided after Superintendent Sherry Grate conducted several community focus groups outlining the options and price points. The plan chosen was the most economical and calls for additions and renovations to existing buildings.
