Billowing smoke could be seen for miles around Cicero, as a commercial structure fire tore through the empty N-R-G building on West Brinton Street. There was a significant collapse as the blaze intensified. Crews quickly contained the fire to the warehouse portion of the facility. There was little additional damage to the manufacturing and office portions of the building. A nearby apartment building was evacuated as a precaution, due to heavy smoke. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
