A Christmas morning fire displaced an Anderson family, after they were able to evacuate safely and call 911. The Herald Bulletin reports that the Clark Street homeowner awakened to the sound of popping and crackling around the fireplace and got the occupants to safety. The fire, contained mostly to the attic, caused about $30,000 in damage.
