Alec Neighborhood Under Boil Advisory

Residents in the Riverview neighborhood in Alexandria are under a boil water notice until at least Friday following the replacement of a fire hydrant. The notice will be in effect until two water-quality tests are performed 24-hours apart. The replacement was simple routine maintenance, but affected southwest side homes that now need to boil the water used for cooking and cleaning.
