The Markleville Town Council has narrowed the list of Town Marshal candidates down to two. Tim Basey, Markleville, and Bud McCorkle, Ingalls, each have at least 30 years of law-enforcement experience. The town has been without a permanent marshal since January after Kevin Allen submitted his resignation. The council will meet April 12 in an open meeting to vote on the hire.
