A man and his dog were rescued by Muncie firefighters yesterday from his burning home. The fire was reported by a neighbor about 3 p.m. on East Cowing Drive. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The home suffered extensive damage. The German shepard made it out alive and was taken by the Muncie Animal Shelter for evaluation and treatment.
