Early Morning Fire Destroys Historic Structure

A dramatic fire destroyed a historic building in Pennville, in Jay County early Wednesday. The site is a former general store and later the Provident Hospital, which as of the last few years was being used as a storage building. Firefighters had trouble with getting enough water from the town’s supply, relying on mutual aid tankers from nearby departments. No word yet on the cause.
