Dunkirk fire injures child, displaces at least 5 people

A house fire in Dunkirk injured one child overnight, suffering a non-life-threatening injury while escaping from a second-story window. The fire was reported about 3:30 a.m. in the 300 block of E. Center Street. Three other children and one adult were also in the home at the time. The child was taken to Muncie’s IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. The fire’s cause remains under investigation, and the home suffered extentive damage.
