UPDATE: No Serious Injuries in Muncie Fire

UPDATE AT 4 p.m.:  three Muncie firefighters were treated on scene, but no transports to hospital (source, MFD Chief Burford).

Mid-morning Friday, large plumes of smoke were seen from many areas of Muncie, from a huge fire at the Canterbury apartments (called Townhomes when doing a location search on Google).  At 11:42 a.m., MFD Chief Burford told WMUN Radio News that the “Fire is under control. Overhaul is in progress. There are no road closures in the area.”

Early reports indicated that the fire might have started as a vehicle fire, with others saying it was in a carport.  Investigation on going.  No reports of injuries,  or fatalities as of 11:55 a.m.
