Supreme Court Upholds Portland Mother’s Conviction

The Indiana Supreme Court has upheld the convictions of a Portland mother sentenced to life in prison — without the possibility of parole — for killing her 5-year-old son. The Star Press reports a Jay Circuit Court jury in July 2023 found Chelsea Lanett Crossland, now 30, guilty of murder and neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
