Today it’s open for work outs and more: The NEW Muncie YMCA
After an overwhelmingly large crowd attended Saturday’s ribbon cutting and Open House, today it’s open for work outs and more: the new Muncie YMCA, on the campus of Muncie Central High School is open – and Ball State has taken possession of the Northwest location – the Yorktown Y remains as-is.
Prosecuting Attorney Eric M. Hoffman said in part, in a release: “I am an ardent believer in the freedoms and rights embodied in the First Amendment. However, as our courts have ruled, those freedoms and rights are not absolute. A person does not have a right to disrupt a lawful assembly of persons. Law and order will be upheld.” He formerly charged five with two (2) counts of Disorderly Conduct as part of that protest held during the last Ball State Board meeting. The charges are pending in the Muncie City Court. A Class B Misdemeanor is punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. See those charged on our news page now.
