Muncie firefighters battled a blaze overnight at an apartment house in the 2700 block of South Monroe Street. Fire crews said they were able to see the smoke from several blocks away. The call came in at about 11:40pm and a distress call was issued about 15 minutes later when two firefighters inside lost their way They were able to get out with help. No injuries. No word yet on a cause.
