Bail Reform For Low Level Offenders

Madison County is implementing bail reform for low level offenders. The Herald Bulletin reports that the county criminal justice system is implementing a new policy starting on Jan. 1. The Risk Assessment System will be used to determine if a person arrested should be released without posting a cash bond. The system will look at an offender’s potential flight risk, risk of committing a violent crime and criminal history.
