Six-Month Moratorium On Solar Farms

In a unanimous vote, members of the Madison County Planning Commission have agreed to make a recommendation of a six-month moratorium on any new large-scale solar developments. Planning director Brad Newman says they need to take a good look at the ordinances and potentially make changes to them. County Commissioners will meet on the subject at 7 p.m. July 8 in the Commissioner’s Court.
