3.5 Million Allotted For Asbestos Removal

The Madison County Council has approved a $3.5 million loan for asbestos abatement and remodeling of the courthouse. The Herald Bulletin reports that the council voted 5-2 to approve the 14-year loan. The council is pledging the county’s share of the local option income tax revenues to repay the loan.
