Vice President Mike Pence is spending part of his day in Anderson, making the Republican case for a tax code overhaul during a speech Friday. But choice of venue for the speech in his home state of Indiana is no coincidence. It’s part of a campaign by President Donald Trump to woo Democratic Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly to get on board with the effort. Donnelly is one of three vulnerable Senate Democrats up for re-election in 2018 and Indiana is a state Trump won. Donnelly hasn’t said if he will support the tax overhaul.
