His lawyer says he needs more time to prepare. The attorney for Muncie’s building commissioner, Craig Nichols, is asking the U.S. District Court to delay the April 17 trial until at least mid-August. The judge could rule on the motion in the coming days. Nichols is charged with 16 counts of wire fraud, one count of theft of government funds and 16 counts of money laundering.
