You’re going to need a license for that chicken. The Elwood City Council has approved an ordinance that will allow residents to own up to six female chickens. However, the ninth amendment to the ordinance will require owners to pay an annual fee of $5 per chicken. Officials say that’s to allow for the inspection of the chicken shelter by the city’s animal control officer.
