Winter Storm Fern, Power Update from AEP,1/25/26, 2:30 p.m.
Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is monitoring the extreme cold temperatures and accumulating snowfall impacting all our customers. Currently, we are not reporting any considerable outages due to the weather. I&M is a member of PJM Interconnection, a regional transmission organization, and remains under Conservative Operations.
I&M crews are ready to respond to outages safely and quickly if they occur. To restore power, some I&M pickup trucks have plows and we are coordinating with county plow trucks for help to reach critical outages.
Snowfall could make travel dangerous across our service area, especially in southern Fort Wayne and the Muncie area. We urge our customers to avoid driving if possible and go slow if they must be on the roads. During winter conditions, a top cause for outages is vehicles sliding off the road and hitting power poles.
I&M crews and business partners work year-round to prevent outages, especially those caused by extreme weather. I&M is an industry leader in reliability with our customers experiencing fewer and shorter outages than many other power companies across the country.
The next update will be provided this afternoon. For the most up-to-date information on power outages, visit www.IndianaMichiganPower.com/OutageMap.
