Anderson Man Dies In Wednesday Crash

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department says a fatal crash in the 3400 Block of N SR 9 Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of an Anderson man. The Madison County Coroner identified him as 93 year old Neil Sullender. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Sullender attempted to cross the multi-lane highway and was struck by a northbound Jeep Wrangler. Police say the Jeep driver had non-life-threatening injuries. State Road 9 was reopened after a 2.5-hour closure. The crash remains under investigation.
