PROPOSED MADISON COUNTY REGIONAL UTILITY DISTRICT

NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS OF AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING REGARDING MADISON COUNTY’S INTENT TO FILE A PETITION WITH THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT TO ESTABLISH A REGIONAL UTILITY DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given to property owners of unincorporated areas of Monroe Township in Madison County, Indiana that a public information meeting will be held at the Emery Lee Building, located in Beulah Park at 400 E. 4th St. Alexandria, IN 46001 on Wednesday June 18, 2025, at 6:00 pm, regarding the filing of a Petition with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (“IDEM”) to establish a regional utility district in accordance with Indiana Code 13-26. The meeting will provide information about how and why Regional Utility Districts are formed and governed as well as how and when the public can provide comments about District formation.

The territory to be included within the proposed District is all of Monroe Township in Madison County, Indiana, excluding the municipally-incorporated area of Alexandria and areas currently serviced by Certified Treatment Areas (CTA’s) within Monroe Township. The proposed District would focus its initial efforts on the Phillips and Scott’s additions due to current privately owned infrastructure failures and associated Clean Water Act violations.

The Draft Petition along with the Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) can be viewed online at https://madcohealth.org/regional-utility-district as well as in hard copy at the following locations:

· Madison County Health Department, 206 E Ninth St, Unit 200, Anderson, IN 46016

· Madison County Board of Commissioners Office located in the Madison County Government Center, 16 East 9th Street, ST. #104, Anderson, IN 46016.

· Alexandria-Monroe Public Library located at 117 East Church St, Alexandria, IN 46001.

The designated representatives for the Petition are Olivia Pratt, Vice President of the Board of Commissioners, 16 East 9th Street, Anderson, IN 46016 and Carol Purdy, Board Chair of Madison County Health Department, 206 East 9th Street, ST. #200, Anderson, IN 46016.
