Driver Fatigue Likely Cause of Muncie Crash

Thousands lost power Monday morning at 7:30 a.m., when a semi driver lost control, and knocked out several power poles.   The first word came from John Coutinho,  Delaware County EMA Director with a report to WMUN WLBC Radio News of “crash at McGalliard and Walnut” with “lines down and a fuel spill.”   Haz Mat team, as well as Muncie Fire,  Muncie Police,  and AEP crews responded quickly.  MPD’s Deputy Chief Melissa Criswell reported at 3 p.m., that the driver showed no signs of impairment.  Driver fatigue likely to blame.
