Earlier this month the city administration of Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour said it had completed its publicly stated goal of planting 1,000 trees in Muncie within 1,000 days. The Star Press reports an administration press release said the task would be completed Nov. 3. The goal of planting more healthy trees was in reaction to the impact of Emerald Ash Borer and Dutch Elm Disease on the city stock of trees.
