WHO Says It Is Over

It’s over, says WHO:   The World Health Organization declares end to Covid global health emergency, first issued in January 2020.  However, they noted that worldwide, someone died of Covid every three minutes last week — a figure that only includes reported deaths.

We know more about what happened last week in Richmond Indiana.  It was on Rich Road at about 3 p.m., when Indiana State Police found 81 year old Charles Adams who allegedly shot a 42-year-old woman for what turned out to be non-life-threatening injuries.  Adams barricaded in his home and refused to answer attempted to communication from police.  Adams allegedly fired a shot at officers. SWAT came in after a time, eventually deployed a chemical to enter the house, suspect raised a gun, cops shot him – non life threatening injuries.


Mage won the 149th running of the Kentucky Derby Saturday at Churchill Downs in Louisville, winning the race at 15-1 odds.  Our National news partners may have more, but as of Sunday, seven horses died in the week leading up to the race, one of which was to run in the Derby.

Ball State baseball returns to action for a road game at Indiana State on Tuesday, May 9.  They split a double header at Athens, Ohio over the weekend.

Friday, the new Artificial turf was installed at the Muncie Central stadium. All reports say on schedule for fall football games.

The Ball State University Board of Trustees, in its final meeting of the 2022-23 academic year, on Friday reappointed Jim Lowe to the Muncie Community Schools (MCS) Board of Trustees.
