A former Eaton man charged with trying to kill a Delaware County Sheriffs Deputy was found guilty of attempted murder. 26 year old Shane Shumate could face up to 40 years in prison when sentenced, stemming from an incident outside his home on in January 2018. Shumate was being investigated on a domestic incident when he wielded a handgun at a deputy and pulled the trigger, but missed his intended target.
