It has been made clear that the travel industry was first hit, and will likely be the last to recover.  51% of the employees in the Travel/Tourism industry in the U.S. have been laid off. U.S. air carriers averaged 2.1 million passengers per day last year.  In March and April they averaged 90,000 passengers per day.  Hotels are averaging less than 20% capacity.  All cruise lines worldwide, both sea and river, have canceled their sailings through June 30.  Great Destinations Travel Agency in Muncie has been able to avoid layoffs because of the PPP program and a great relationship with local bankers.  Starting this week, they are open by appointment only and will have no more than one client in the office at one time.  Clients and agents must wear masks.
