Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour announced yesterday that the Muncie Mall is now under new management. The company is called “The Woodmont Company” headquartered in Fort Worth, TX.

As this school year winds down, feeding the children during the summer break is already in focus.

At yesterday’s virtual meeting of the Muncie Redevelopment Commission it was announced that Accutech Systems is very close to opening their new facility in downtown Muncie, but no date has been set yet, due to COVID-19.

Add Fort Wayne’s Three Rivers Festival to the list of events postponed or canceled by the coronavirus.

Indiana Beach says 2020 season passes will be honored.  May 24 is opening day for the campground and all lodging – they are planning a midnight check in, so if you are in the area on the 23rd, you will be able to get into the campground as early as possible.  June 27th is the public grand opening of the Park.

Fewer meetings is a continued good sign – this week, the Delaware County EMA held their last scheduled briefing for community leaders and the Media.  They will only announce a meeting if there is a significant change related to the CCP, or COVID19, virus.

At yesterday’s virtual meeting of the Muncie Redevelopment Commission covered by MuncieJournnal.com, Mayor Dan Ridenour reiterated the city has no interest in the former Borg Warner property, and does not own it.  The property is currently owned by Walez Sustainable products, and they are currently attempting to sell the property.

The coronavirus is forcing more Hoosiers out of work

The NTT IndyCar Series announced Wednesday that its season finale on the streets of St. Petersburg will be Sunday, October 25th. The season is slated to begin June 6th at the Texas Motor Speedway.  NASCAR re-starts their season this Sunday.

Today from 11 – 1 p.m., the Indiana National Guard will hand out personal pizzas and hand sanitizer to kids grades K-12, at the Muncie Boys and Girls Club on Madison Street.  Student must be present, and please do stay in your vehicle.

As many companies around Indiana are slowly getting back to work, they’re putting in new safety procedures for their employees. Rob Connett reports

Logansport’s Tyson pork processing plant isn’t the only meatpacking plant to face a coronavirus outbreak. Dozens of plants across the country have been among the nation’s hottest hotspots. The eight worst virus outbreaks in the country are all tied either to prisons or meat processing plants. One of every 24 people in Cass County has tested positive for the virus after Tyson workers began getting sick. In Delphi, Indiana Packers closed for 13 days as a precaution and tested all its workers and contractors — 300 came back positive, some without symptoms.
