5/8/2020, 3 p.m.: only 3 COVID19 hospitalized in DelCo

NEWS UPDATE on 5/8/2020: the Delaware County Commissioners met today, and, as expected, voted to extend the County’s emergency declaration by 11 days. They added some language to the new declaration to account for visitor-policy to the County Building, and also voted in favor of a voluntary furlough plan for staff members, though they did not discuss how many people or how much money the wish to save with this program (which would allow a County employee to immediately file for unemployment, and also allow them to return to their job once per month to keep their PERF benefit active). The furlough, when approved would begin in mid-May and last for 12 weeks. County Health Department Administrator Bane shared very “promising news:” as of this afternoon, only 3 people in the county are hospitalized due to COVID19. Steve Lindell
