COVID-19 Financial Hit Leads To Hiring Freeze

The financial hit caused by coronavirus has led to state government imposing a widespread hiring freeze and other limits on spending, The State Budget Agency is telling angency directors to clamp down on expenses, along with no vehicle or furniture purchases. No state employees have yet been laid off yet, but officials will be looking closely before filling any vacancies, say state officials.
