Former Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler will head to trial on August 10th in connection with his theft of government funds case. He’s accused of accepting a $5,000 bribe to steer excavation work to a local contractor. The trial was originally set to start last month but a judge reset the trial for late May on a date when Tyler’s lawyers would be out of town.
