The number of registered voters in Madison County is down 19% from four years ago ahead of Tuesday’s elections. Officials say there are 48,861 residents eligible to cast a ballot this year as compared to 60,243 in 2015, reports the Herald Bulletin. Reportedly, the numbers are down because only one precinct in Elwood is casting ballots in the only contested seat on the Elwood City Council.
