Local businessman Jeffrey Burke won’t go on trial Monday as scheduled but instead, on January 27th. The Star Press reports Burke is charged with obtaining an out of state loan, not to be used for real estate purchases and using the money to by a former flea market on the 1700 block of East Main Street in Muncie. What would have been the first trial stemming from a federal probe of Mayor Dennis Tyler’s administration and the Muncie Sanitary District has been postponed.
