Cmdr. Jared Tharp of Middletown has assumed command of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory’s Scientific Development Squadron One. The leader of the VXS-1 “Warlocks” is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in economics and a master’s in business administration from the University of West Florida.
