A Lafayette man is accused of evading police and dumping a gun in Madison County. 40-year-old Andrew Alcorns is charged with carrying a handgun, possession of an altered handgun and Class C misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. When a call was reported of a suspicious vehicle at the Wendy’s on South Scatterfield Road, police drove up to Alcorns’ vehicle, and he fled the scene and dumped a semi-automatic handgun and drug paraphernalia along the way. Alcorns was also charged with two counts of Class A misdemeanor resisting law enforcement.
