Accused Of Slapping Her Friend’s Child

A Chesterfield woman faces a felony charge after being accused of striking her friend’s child. According to the Star Press, 29-year-old Mary Beckham is charged with battery on a person less than 14 years old. Beckham is alleged to have struck the child with an open hand on the right side of his face. She is set to appear at an initial hearing next Thursday.
