Officials with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce have announced there will be no race this year. The Alexandria Grand Prix normally would have taken place in August, but organizers say low attendance, lack of volunteers and loss of sponsorships made it nearly impossible to execute. It’s a major loss to the town that’s trying to find new ways to attract visitors.
