It’s shaping up to be an interesting primary in Gaston. Audra and Benji Koontz, one a Democrat – the other Republican, are running for a position on the Gaston Town Council. The couple has been married for almost 20 years and says the idea of them both running actually started out as a way to encourage citizens to register to vote. Both have a record of being very active in the community.
